James “Jim” Walker is a 62-year-old retired Air Force firefighter who served  from 1982 to 2005. Throughout his career, he regularly trained with and  responded to aircraft fire emergencies using AFFF foam, with documented  exposure during more than 20 training drills and live fire events. In 2012,  seven years after his retirement, Jim was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which  required surgery and ongoing monitoring. He has never been represented by  an attorney for this issue, meets the military exposure criteria, and was well  past the 6-month latency window between first exposure and diagnosis— making him a highly qualified claimant for an AFFF lawsuit.
